Blue Apatite
The ocean-blue stone
Apatite is a calcium phosphate mineral, the same family that makes up our teeth and bones, and its vivid ocean-blue form comes mainly from Madagascar. Its name comes from the Greek apatē, "deceit", because it was so often mistaken for other gems. At 5 on the Mohs scale it's one of the softer stones we use.
In crystal lore, blue apatite is linked with motivation, focus and clear self-expression.

Caring for Blue Apatite
A softer stone that rewards a little care. Put it on last, after perfume and hairspray, and take it off before washing, swimming or exercise. Wipe with a dry soft cloth only and store on its own in its pouch.
