Dendritic Opal
The landscape stone
A common opal, without the rainbow flashes of precious opal, patterned with fern-like dendrites of manganese oxide that look like tiny trees or landscapes. It's also known as moss or landscape opal, and is sometimes dyed to brighter shades. We always say when a piece has been.
Its branching patterns have made it a symbol of growth and of nature; in crystal lore it's associated with patience and calm.

Caring for Dendritic Opal
Like all opal it holds a little water, so keep it away from heat, strong sunlight and sudden changes in temperature. Wipe with a soft dry cloth, and keep dyed pieces away from perfume, creams and household cleaners.
